Finished Size: 29” x 37”

Standard 1/4” seam allowance used throughout.

When selecting fabrics, note that non-directional fabrics work best.
• 1-3/4 yards (main) fabric for quilt back, outer border, binding and quilt blocks (Fabric A)
• 1/2 yard fabric for inner border and quilt blocks (Fabric B)
• 5 assorted fat quarters in complimentary fabrics (Fabrics C, D, E, F & G)

June Tailor® Quilters Fusible Batting™ - Craft Size
• Thread to match
• Binding Buddy 2-1/2" Ruler for cutting perfect binding
• Quilter's Storage Tissue to preserve your quilt
• Assorted ribbons and charms for embellishing

Fabric A: Cut (1) 30” x 38” backing piece, (2) 3-1/2” x 36-1/2” strips and (2) 3-1/2 x 22-1/2” strips for outer border.
Fabric B: Cut (2) 2” x 30-1/2” strips and (2) 2” x 19-1/2” inner border strips.
Fabrics A -G: Refer to piecing diagram. Note that all dimensions on the diagram include standard 1/4” seam allowance. Cut fabrics and printed Colorfast Fabric™ Sheets as per the piecing diagram. Follow diagram for fabric selections or mix and match as desired.

• Using photographs on your computer, size to the dimensions on the piecing diagram. Note that all dimensions include standard 1/4” seam allowance.
• Print photos on plain paper first to ensure that your print is the correct size and that there is enough room to accommodate the 1/4” seam allowance.
• Following manufacturer’s instructions, print photos on the Colorfast Fabric™ Sheets. Complete the colorfast process per packaging instructions. Cut to sizes indicated on piecing diagram. Because Colorfast Fabric™ Sheets have been treated with a special coating, holes will remain when it is pinned and sewn. Always pin with the seam allowance to avoid visible holes in the finished piece.

NOTE: If attaching ribbons or trims to fabric pieces, baste or sew in place, as desired, before assembling the quilt top. Embellishments such as buttons or charms should typically be added at the end.
• Although the design of this quilt looks complicated, it may be assembled easily in sections. Stitch common dimension pieces to create larger pieced sections. Then join the larger sections in the same manner to complete the quilt top.
Patchwork Heart:
• Sew scraps of several fabrics randomly together to make a 5” x 6” rectangle. Cut in the shape of a heart. Applique to the quilt block as desired.

• Sew 2” x 19-1/2” inner border strips to top and bottom of pieced center. Sew 2” x 30-1/2” strips to sides of pieced center.
• Sew 3-1/2” x 22-1/2” outer border strips to top and bottom of inner border. Sew 3-1/2” x 36-1/2” strips to sides of inner border.
• Layer quilt back, batting and quilt top. Following instructions on batting package, steam baste layers together. (Colorfast process must have been done on photos.)
• Quilt and bind as desired. Sample shown was quilted by stitch in the ditch.
• Add any other embellishments such as buttons and charms if desired.
