| How do I remove
Fray Block™ from my fabric? |
| |
|
|
To remove an unwanted
spot of Fray Block™
begin with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to test the rubbing alcohol
in an inconspicuous place on your fabric first. Watch for any
color change or formation of a ring. The alcohol evaporates
quickly and usually doesn’t stain. Dab a cotton swab
in the rubbing alcohol and rub it on the drip to dissolve the
Fray Block™, working while the spot is still wet if possible.
If the drip has dried, continue to blot and rub the spot until
it is removed. Because most sealants are a nylon/plastic in
an alcohol base, alcohol is the only solvent that will chemically
break down the plastic. It is important to give the alcohol
time to work on the drip.

If your Fray Block™
has been opened and unused for some time, it is possible that
it has begun to thicken inside the tube. We recommend testing
it on several different color scrap fabrics before using
on your project to see if this has occurred. If you notice
any color in your Fray Block™
(white or cloudiness), this may have begun to happen. It may
be helpful to run the tube under hot tap water for 3 minutes;
shake for 30 seconds. This will help to thin the Fray Block™.
We then recommend retesting the Fray Block™ on your scrap
fabrics once again to ensure the Fray Block™ is once
again clear.
