How can I avoid paper jams when using Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets?

It is best to load one sheet of Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets into your printer at a time. Once one sheet has passed through your printer, you may load the next sheet to be printed on.

If your printer is having trouble gripping the edge of the fabric we recommend that you line the leading edge of the fabric with masking tape to help the printer grip the fabric and pull it through its printing process. It is also important that you watch the fabric as it comes out of your printer so it does not catch on any of the component parts of the printer and begin to jam. It may be helpful to watch the fabric as it exits the printer and help guide it out.

Humidity will have an effect on the fabric, as well as on your printer. If your environment is too humid, the fabric can curl and will not run through the printer smoothly. Printers are also more likely to jam in humidity. It is best to reduce the amount of humidity around both.

Is it necessary to flip or mirror images when using Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets?

It is important to note that Quick Fuse™ is not an iron-on transfer. Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets enable you to print or copy photos, graphics, or text directly onto fabric, instantly. Therefore, there is no need to mirror image photos before printing them out. The image you see on your computer screen is the image that will print on your Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheet.

Which side do I print on when using Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets?

Print on the fabric side of the Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric sheets. The fabric side appears rough and textured. The backing, which is the adhesive, has a glossy or shiny appearance and a smooth texture. This backing is activated by the heat of your iron when pressing your Quick Fuse™ image onto your project surface. When pressing your Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheet, your image will be facing you, glossy backing down. You will press directly on top of your image and the heat from your iron will pass through the fabric and activate the adhesive backing, adhering your image to your project surface.

How do I care for my Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets after my images are printed?

Quick Fuse™ Ink Jet Fabric Sheets must be fused to project surface first, before laundering. Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets may be laundered by hand in cold water with a small amount of liquid fabric softener. If machine washing, use cold water, gentle cycle and liquid fabric softener, no detergent. Regular detergents are too harsh and will fade the images. It is important to remember the ink that you are printing onto the fabric is water-soluble and is therefore not permanent. The coating in the Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric is the only way to set that ink into the fabric. Keep in mind that what you are putting into the fabric is only ink; it is not a dye. You can dry your images with a hair dryer or lay flat to dry.

What do I do if the corners of my Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets are lifting after it has been fused onto my project?

Quick Fuse™ Ink Jet Fabric sheets can be fused directly to your project surface. We recommend pressing the product with a high heat to ensure the fabric is completely fused. You may even want to finish the comers of the fabric with decorative buttons, stitches or ties. This will help keep the comers from lifting when the project is laundered. The Quick Fuse™ fabric should not lift, however, if the fabric appears to do so, you can simply re-press the image. This means that the image did not have enough heat to thoroughly fuse the photo the first time it was pressed. The center is the hottest area on the surface of an iron. It is important that the center of the iron pass over the comers and edges of the Quick Fuse™ Ink Jet Fabric Sheets to help ensure the image is fully fused.

Can Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets be used in a laser printer?

No, the Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric sheets must be used with an inkjet printer or an inkjet copier. The shiny side of the Quick Fuse™ sheet is the fusible. This fusible is activated by heat. Printing the Quick Fuse™ sheet in a laser printer could result in activating the backing, which can start to melt and jam in the machine. This is possible because laser printers heat up too much for the fusible to withstand. In addition, the Quick Fuse™ has a special coating on it that makes it colorfast, but it must be used with an inkjet printer or an inkjet copier.

Do the Quick Fuse™ Inkjet Fabric Sheets come in any other sizes?

Quick Fuse™ Ink Jet Fabric Sheets are available in one size only, 8 1/2" x 11 ". This size is standard and will run through anyone's color inkjet printer or color inkjet copier, as would a piece of paper. Many home inkjet printer/copier models will not allow for larger sizes.
